Brocade pants

A pair of slim Italian brocade pants, woven from a heavy jacquard with metal threads that catch the light when you move. The cut is straight through the leg with a clean rise — tailored enough for cocktail hour, relaxed enough to pair with a cashmere knit and ankle boots. Hand-selected from Tensione In, the Bologna-based atelier we visit each season for occasion pieces with weight and structure.

Fabric & feel

The fabric is a 65% polyester, 20% nylon, 15% metallic blend — the metal-thread content is what gives a true brocade its low shimmer and architectural stand. It holds its silhouette without crushing, drapes coolly against the leg, and warms slowly indoors. The jacquard motif — bronze and copper florals on a champagne ground — is woven, not printed, so the surface pattern stays sharp through the season.

Fit & sizing

Available in sizes S and M, with a regular Italian fit — true to Tensione In's house pattern. Sits at the natural waist with a flat front, side seams clean to the ankle, and a cropped hem that lands just above the ankle bone. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up for a more relaxed seat through the hip.

How to wear it

Cocktail hour: pair with a fitted black knit or a satin camisole and pointed-toe pumps. For dinner in a Sarasota courtyard, we like them with our tie-neck bow blouse and gold drop earrings. Day-into-evening transition is straightforward — start with a soft cardigan from our knitwear collection, swap for heels at six. For cooler evenings they sit well under our corduroy trench coat in black. The metallic thread reads as evening but never costume; this is a piece that earns repeat wear.

Care

Dry-clean only. Steam (not iron) at low temperature to refresh between wears; never press directly on the metallic thread. Store on a padded hanger to preserve the line at the waist. With proper care, brocade outlasts most seasonal trousers in a wardrobe.
