Description
An oversized shirt dress in crisp white cotton, scattered with a playful hand of nautical embroidery — a seahorse, coral, a shell, a little sailboat and a swimming figure worked in red, blue and green thread. Made in Italy by Barbara Alvisi, it wears as easily buttoned to the throat as it does open over a swimsuit.
Fabric & feel
Cut from 100% cotton with a light, crisp hand, the fabric holds the shirt's structure at the point collar and button placket while staying breathable for Sarasota's heat. The embroidered motifs are scattered rather than symmetrical, so no two panels read quite the same.
Fit & sizing
Available in S, M and L, the dress is deliberately oversized through the body with dropped shoulders and a curved, dipped hem that rises above the knee at the sides. A chest patch pocket and long sleeves with button cuffs keep the shirt details intact even at dress length.
How to wear it
Button it fully as a mini shirt dress with white sneakers for a clean daytime look, or wear it open over a swimsuit as a cover-up on the way to the beach. It also works belted at the waist, which shortens the silhouette and gives the embroidery more room to show.
